Debenhams is going online!

Debenhams one of the biggest store in the UK and is the first store in the United Kingdom which now sells their products on the internet market Ebay and Amazon. About 1000 products is the department store selling on Amazon.co.uk which includes the clothing, homeware, sportswear and beauty products. On Ebay.co.uk Debenhams has opened an outlet store which sells approxmately 100 products:

But their plan is to double this number per week. The deputy chief executive Michael Sharp from Debenhams said: "A strong presence on the web is essential for any modern-day retailer. Our use of Amazon and eBay, as well as Debenhams.com, opens the door to millions of new customers."'Debenhams is expected to deliver pre-tax profits of £122m for the year to the end of August 2009, up from £110m the year before.'
At the moment there are more than 20 retailers are selling their products on Ebay for example the giant catalogue Argos. On Amazon are at the moment round about 8 retailers for example JD Sports Fashion.
